What do pet sitters charge?

PETSRME is a non competitive company and realize I may not be the best fit for every pet owner.  I do not compete with other hobby sitters the kid next door, Rover or Wag Apps.   I also do not try to undermine other professional pet sitting companies.  I run a professional and ethical company.  As a professional pet sitting company there are real costs to run my business legally, including paying local, state and federal taxes, carry proper business liability insurance and bonding.

Because each clients home and pets are unique I require an initial phone consultation to determine first if we will be a good match. I network extensively with other Professional Pet Sitters to assist in finding you the proper fit if need be.

Service rates are as follows:

Daily Dog walking:  Monday Thru Friday only 10am-3pm 

  • 3 or More Request per Week / Reoccurring  – First Dog $22.00, $3.00 for each additional dog. Fees are based on a 20 minute walk 
  • 1-2 days per Week / Reoccurring – $28.00 first dog, $3.00 for each additional dog. Fees are based on 20 minute visits
  • Non Reoccurring walks  $30 per first dog $5.00 for each additional dog 
  • Weekend Walks – Not available except for clients on travel 
  • Cat Sitting
  • $30.00 ( zip codes 22310,  22315) per visit, up to 4 cats.   Plus $2 per each additional cat over 4
  • $33.00 (zip codes 22150, 22152, 22153, 22079)
  • ( Based on in home consultation, additional cats maybe included in flat rate)
    I require a      minimum of one visit per calendar day / 24 hours 

Dog Sitting:  Any request made outside of Monday thru Friday 10am-3pm

  • PLEASE NOTE – Dog sitting is A Limited service and NOT offered  December thru March  OR  during major holidays of Memorial Weekend, The Week of July 4th, Labor Day Weekend, or Thanksgiving week ,
  • $40 per visit for 1st dog , $10 for each additional dog per visit  (Based on an in home consultation, multiple dog households with more than 3 dogs may qualify for no additional fee per dog)
  • I require a minimum of 3 visits daily 
  • Small dogs trained to pee pads may qualify for 2 visits per day if they do not have free run of the home or non medical

Small Critters:

  • I can provide boarding in the sitters home on limited basis for small caged birds, hamsters, and guinea pigs. The owner must provide a cage, food and bedding. Fees start @ $18.00 per calendar day, or any portion of the day. The Sitter may require pickup and delivery from your home. An additional round trip fee of $20.00 to $30.00 will be added. 

Additional Information:

PETSRME does not job share

In your home pet care includes: Feeding, exercise, medications administration, litter box scooping, mail, paper and packages 25# and under brought inside, plant watering within reason. Bird Feeders, Community Cats on your property, Trash cans to and from the curb, home security perimeter checks inside and out, security systems set

Consultation / Registration Fee:  A $35 fee to come to your home to meet you and your pets, register you and your pets information into our online program
Additional trips to home requested by client to meet new pets or update information will be charged at our flat rate visit of $30
At any time during or at the end of Initial Consult PETSRME chooses to not provide service for any reason there will be no charge to pet owner

Holiday Fees: A $25 one time flat fee added for any services scheduled during the following time periods. Please note weekends are Friday to Monday.

  • Memorial Day Weekend (Friday – Monday)
  • July 4th Weekend / Week
  • Labor Day Weekend (Friday – Monday)
  • Thanksgiving Week – Wednesday to Sunday
  • Christmas & New Years – Approximately December 20 to January 1st.

Locksmith / Lock out service: – If the client has not provided correct keys, changed locks without providing new keys, has a damaged lock or we are unable to access your home, PETSRME will charge $35 per hour plus any and all locksmith fees to gain entry to home.

Key pickup / drop off: – PETSRME requires 2 copies of house keys to be obtained during the In home consultation / registration – I keep all client keys in safe in our office and are not located with client files for security purposes.

I will do one free return of keys to client at the end of first service should client request.  Any other additional key pickups and returns will be charged at $25 per trip.  Most of our clients keep keys on file with PETSRME so that we are ready to step in to provide emergency pet care should the need arise.

Hourly Rate: – $35.00 per hour for shopping, taxi service, and emergencies. A minimum fee for any portion of 1st hour is $35 and charged to nearest 30 minute increment thereafter.

Payment Policy  – Once client has an established relationship with Petsrme Vacation and Business travelers must leave payment in full at time of departure.  First time service is requested, entire booking fee will be paid in full at the initial in home consult.  

 Petsrme does not bill   Late fee $35
Daily dog walking clients are billed monthly –  Late Fee $15
 Petsrme has the right to request payment at the time of booking.
